AC/DC released (2) of the greatest hard rock albums of all time almost (1) year apart to the day. Highway to Hell was released on June 27th 1979. This record brought the band to International fame on the strength of all the great songs and increased FM Radio play with the title track "Highways to Hell." This was also the final record with leader singer and frontman Bon Scott. After Bon's untimely passing, the band would release the multi-platinum "Back in Black" with new signer Brian Johnson on July 25th 1980. WHat a difference a year can make...Back in Black would properl the band to arena and festival headliners. AC/DC has never looked back and continues to record and tour at the highest levels.
