AC/DC For Those About to Rock Anniversary…The Cannons Fire !!!!

This month marks the anniversary of AC/DC For Those About to Rock album release in 1981. Imagine having to follow up Back in Black with a new studio recording. No place to go but down right? AC/DC’s 8th studio release did nothing but go to #1 in the USA and receive rave critical reviews. Gone on ya’ Angus Young, Malcolm Young, Phil Rudd, Cliff Williams and Brian Johnson!

The For Those About to Rock world tour added new stage craft with the addition of the AC/DC Cannon. The band closed the set by firing an entire back line of prop cannons that hammered AC/DC Superfans with pulverizing site and sound. The Cannon has been a staple for AC/DC live ever since. We created the Rock Iconz®  On Tour™ Limited Edition Statue to celebrate this iconic piece of stage-dress. The Knucklebonz blog photo shows the Cannon atop amps just like the AC/DC lives shows. Each statue is hand cast and detailed with a hand numbered certificate on the statue top. We have new inventory arriving soon, reserve your AC/DC Rock Iconz On Tour Cannon here.

Metallica Lady Justice Rock Iconz On Tour Statue Announced

KnuckleBonz® Metallica Lady Justice Rock® Iconz On Tour™ Statue has launched and is now available for Pre-Order. She towers over the Metallica Rock Iconz Statue set of James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo juts like show does when she appears in Metallica live stage-dress. This beautiful lady first appeared in 1988 as the cover art for Justice For All. This was a big commercial breakthrough for Metallica on the strength of the music video for “One.” The subsequent tour saw a huge step forward is live concert production. If you were there, you’ll  remember the lighting truss swinging down, showering sparks and Lady Justice fell to pieces behind the band as they closed with “…And Justice For All.” There’s great live video of this on  “Live Shit: Binge and Purge”.

Nick Mason Opens Pink Floyd: Their Mortal Remains Exhibition in LA

Nick Mason Opens Pink Floyd: Their Mortal Remains Exhibition in LA.

Hollywood Boulevard was alight Sept 2nd as Pink Floyd founding member, drummer Nick Mason, cut the ribbon to open the the “Their Mortal Remains” Exhibition. Even Floyd Superfans might forget that Nick Mason is actually the only member of Pink Floyd to appear on every recording and play every Pink Floyd show since the bands 1st days with Syd Barrett.

Over (350 Pink) Floyd artifacts are on display the at the Vogue Multicultural Museum in Los Angeles thru Jan 9th 2022. We were lucky enough to be invited to the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony. Here’s some pictures of some of the items that have inspired KnuckleBonz® work with Pink Floyd…The Pink Floyd Pig “Algie” floats above the exhibition opening crowd. The original pick was flown above the Battersea Power Station in the UK. The Pig broke lose of the tether and floats over the UK disrupting air traffic and landing in a farmers field in Kent. Our Rock Iconz® On Tour™ Pink Floyd Pig Collectible is on back order here…reserve your now. Only 1977 are being cast for Pink Floyd Superfans worldwide.

Pink Floyd Division Bell Stage Mock Up was on display. This is cool as you can see “Mr. Screen” in the center of the concert rigging. Note the light banks that line the stage. This was the inspiration for the statue base design of our On Tour Limited Edition Collectible for the Division Bell Pink Floyd Screen Collectible. Production has wrapped on this design and is on the way to our US warehouse. Reserve yours here with a pre-order. Limited to 1994 worldwide.

Pink Floyd “Time” short film animation cell created by Ian Emes was on full display. Notice the square aspect ratio of this production animation cell. It’s squared versus the typical landscape format. This was because this animation was bound for the 1st use of the Pink Floyd circular projection screen on the 1972 Pink Floyd “Dark Side of the Moon” world tour. Life would never be the same for David Gilmour, Roger Waters, Nick Mason and Richard Wright after this…

Our ACDC Hell’s Bell Rock Iconz On Tour Collectible – Great live shot of Frontman Brian Johnson

Here’s a great sht of Brian Johnson with AC/DC on his first tour with the band rining the Hell’s Bell. The inset live photo of the Hell’s Bell is very close to what we created for the Rock Iconz® On Tour Limited Edition Series. As you might know, there have been many versions of the Hell’s Bell since it first rang out over the AC/DC stage in 1980. The 1st to go out on tour was so heavy that actually broke through the stage at the Nausaau Colleseum while the band was loading in for that show.  It was hand cast in bronze at the Bellfounders in Loughborough in the UK. It actually weighed in at about 2000 pounds. It was clear right away the Hell’s Bell was not just another stage prop.

The AC/DC Hell’s Rock Iconz Hell’s Bell On Tour Ltd. Edition Statue is on back order and finishing the 2nd wave of production now. Reserve your here.

Also finishing production is our AC/DC Rock Iconz Limited Edition Statue of Angus Young and Brian Johnson. Pre-Order yours here.

We also are finishing a 2nd wave of production on the AC/DC For “Those About to Rock” Cannon for the On Tour Series. Reseve the ACDC Cannon here.

Pink Floyd Divison Bell On Tour Screen Collectible – Box Design Notes

Working on the color box design for our Pink Floyd Division Bell Screen Rock Iconz On Tour Collectible today here at the KnuckleBonz Studio.

Came across the US Tour Intenerary this AM while going thru all the Division Bell art assets for potential use in the design. The date July 10th 1994 jumped out. We were there at RFK Stadium to witness what would be the final major tour for Pink Floyd. The set list was amaizing of course, but I recall highlights being the opening number of “Astronomy Domine” from early in the David Gilmour years and “One of These Days.” The 2nd half of the show saw the Pink Floyd screen rotate 90 degrees to hover above the band like something from “Close Encounters of the Third Kind.” A once in a lifetime experience. The egress from the stadium and Washington, DC was a challenge…ahh the good ole’ days.

Production on this Pink Floyd Rock Iconz On Tour collectible is going well and on schedule for a Dec/Jan release.

You can pre-order the Pink Floyd Division Bell Screen from the Rock Iconz ON Tour Collectible Series here.

ACDC Hell’s Bell – 2nd Production Wave

Our AC/DC Hell’s Bell Rock Iconz Collectible Statue On Tour sold through the 1st production quicklly and we’ve been hard at work on the 2nd wave ot this 3000 piece limited edtion. Production is qrapping up and we are going through QA now. Here’s a shot from the production floor of the color package.

The “Hell’s Bell” first graced the AC/DC live stage in support of the “Back in Black” world tour in 1980. This was the band’s 7th studio album and the 1st with new frontman Brian Johnson. For anyone associated with that tour, it quickly became clear that this was not just another stage prop. It was, in fact, a 1300kgs bronze colossus fitted into a custom road case. This bell was special, as it was not only an amazing sight during live performances, but it was the very same that rang out (13) times on the “Hells Bells” track on the album.

We’ve have alot going on with AC/DC at the moment and will be adding more in 2021. The ACDC For “Those About to Rock” Stage Cannon Collectible is on back order and can be reserved here. Our Angus Young and Brian Johnson Rock Iconz Ltd. Edition statue is in the final states and can be pre-ordered here. We also launched a new craft beer line with AC/DC yesterday in collboaration with our brewing Partner Calicraft yesterday. Pre order ACDC TNT Double IPA and ACDC PwrUp Juicy IPA here.

Favorite Iron Maiden Album Cover? Maybe Not an Album Cover at All…

Iron Maiden fans have had their own community and fervor for the band since the early days in the UK before they were recording and touring. That commitment only grew when they began to release studio albums and we got our first glimpse of Eddie the Head. Since that time, every true Iron Maiden fan has a favorite album cover and can remember where they 1st saw the art, bought the record, and dropped the needle. The interesting thing here is two of Iron Maiden’s most popular versions of Eddie, and favs here at KnuckleBonz®, where not album covers at all…they were covers on singles.   “The Trooper” off Iron Maiden Piece of Mind 1983 and “Aces High” from Powerslave 1994 were released first as sleeves on these amazing single tracks, back when there where singles on Vinyl. We must admit, we never really bought singles so the first time we saw these iconic images was in the press and on tour merch going to the shows…so much to enjoy from Edward the Great and Iron Maiden. Drop the needle today!
