Nick Mason Opens Pink Floyd: Their Mortal Remains Exhibition in LA

Nick Mason Opens Pink Floyd: Their Mortal Remains Exhibition in LA.

Hollywood Boulevard was alight Sept 2nd as Pink Floyd founding member, drummer Nick Mason, cut the ribbon to open the the “Their Mortal Remains” Exhibition. Even Floyd Superfans might forget that Nick Mason is actually the only member of Pink Floyd to appear on every recording and play every Pink Floyd show since the bands 1st days with Syd Barrett.

Over (350 Pink) Floyd artifacts are on display the at the Vogue Multicultural Museum in Los Angeles thru Jan 9th 2022. We were lucky enough to be invited to the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony. Here’s some pictures of some of the items that have inspired KnuckleBonz® work with Pink Floyd…The Pink Floyd Pig “Algie” floats above the exhibition opening crowd. The original pick was flown above the Battersea Power Station in the UK. The Pig broke lose of the tether and floats over the UK disrupting air traffic and landing in a farmers field in Kent. Our Rock Iconz® On Tour™ Pink Floyd Pig Collectible is on back order here…reserve your now. Only 1977 are being cast for Pink Floyd Superfans worldwide.

Pink Floyd Division Bell Stage Mock Up was on display. This is cool as you can see “Mr. Screen” in the center of the concert rigging. Note the light banks that line the stage. This was the inspiration for the statue base design of our On Tour Limited Edition Collectible for the Division Bell Pink Floyd Screen Collectible. Production has wrapped on this design and is on the way to our US warehouse. Reserve yours here with a pre-order. Limited to 1994 worldwide.

Pink Floyd “Time” short film animation cell created by Ian Emes was on full display. Notice the square aspect ratio of this production animation cell. It’s squared versus the typical landscape format. This was because this animation was bound for the 1st use of the Pink Floyd circular projection screen on the 1972 Pink Floyd “Dark Side of the Moon” world tour. Life would never be the same for David Gilmour, Roger Waters, Nick Mason and Richard Wright after this…

Low Inventory Alert ! – Motorhead Warpig Rock Iconz Ltd. Edition Statue

Low inventory alert on one of originals Rock Iconz design with Motorhead, that being the Warpig Rock Iconz Ltd. Edition Statue. Only a few remain before they are gone forever…

On this design the beloved Motorhead macot hovers a pile of carnage and debris from WWII, a favorite theme of Lemmy. “Snaggletooth” your today. Order Here.

The Motörhead Warpig first appeared on the 1977 self-titled debut album, “Motörhead.” Also, affectionately known as “snaggletooth,” it has become one of the most iconic and loved symbols in music. Motörhead, with Lemmy at the helm, was a band that fused many musical styles and transcended a single category. Fans from diverse music scenes like punk, thrash metal, heavy metal and progressive rock would usually clash, but the one band all could agree on would be Motörhead. The aggression, the speed, the genuine focus of the band made them stand apart, as if having a genre to themselves. With the loss of Lemmy in 2015, Warpig now stands alone as a reminder of what rock music can mean and does mean to all of us….

Also, check out our latest Rock Iconz Limited Editon Statue for Motorhead Lemmy here.

AC/DC Highway to Hell and Back In Black – What a Difference a Year Makes.

AC/DC released (2) of the greatest hard rock albums of all time almost (1) year apart to the day. Highway to Hell was released on June 27th 1979. This record brought the band to International fame on the strength of all the great songs and increased FM Radio play with the title track “Highways to Hell.” This was also the final record with leader singer and frontman Bon Scott. After Bon’s untimely passing, the band would release the multi-platinum “Back in Black” with new signer Brian Johnson on July 25th 1980. WHat a difference a year can make…Back in Black would properl the band to arena and festival headliners. AC/DC has never looked back and continues to record and tour at the highest levels.

Check out all the KnuckleBonz® collectibles for both AC/DC Angus Young and Bon Scott. Our latest design of Angus Young atop Brian Johnson’s shoulders is one of the most elaborate Rock Iconz® designs in our 18 year history. You can pre-order Angus and Brian Rock Iconz here.

42 Years of KISS Dynasty

Yesterday marked 42 years since the release of the KISS Dynasty record. While it not apparent to the KISS Army at the time, the original KISS lineup was only a short time away from it’s end. Peter Criss did not actually play on the album due to a combination of injuries to his hands from car accident and struggles with substance abuse. Anton Fig was called in to keep time as he had already worked with Ace on some of his solo efforts. The album did have radio success with “I Was Made for Lovin You“. It actually peaked at #11 on the US Billboard charts. But, perhaps the most lasting part of the Dynasty era are the amazing costumed. They were more elaborate than ever with Gene, Paul, Ace and Peter dawning capes with signature colors for each member. The KISS predominantly black and silver schemes were replaced by Red for The Demon, Hot Pink for The Starchild, Blue for SpaceAce and Green for The Catman. The photos and videos from this era are amazing.

KnuckleBonz has expended our license with KISS through 2023 with the band and we are hard at work on a new set of Rock Iconz.

Here’s a collectors list of the things we have created with KISS: KnuckleBonz and KISS

  • KISS Alive II Rock Iconz (Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss) * These were essentially the Love Gun costumes w/ some minor tweaks)
  • KISS Alive 1975 Rock Iconz (Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss) * From the costumes fro that era 1975)
  • KISS Rock Iconz Hotter Than Hell (Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss) * All 4 band members, Gene is sporting the Skull shirt
  • KISS Debut Album 3D Vinyl (The band from that famous black cover and the glowing makeup.
  • KISS Destroyer 3D Vinyl – The most aggressive 3D Vinyl design to date sculpting all 4 characters in the illustrative style of Ken Kelly’s famous cover painting.
  • KISS ON Tour Road Case and Logo Stage Sign – The distressed Road case hold a banner from the Alive photo shoot by Fin Costello and the lighted sign used by the band thru the Alive era.
  • KISS Rock Iconz 2021 – #staytuned

The Pink Floyd Exhibition Coming to LA – KnuckleBonz Rock Iconz “On Tour” for Sure!

Pink Floyd Exhibition

The Pink Floyd Exhibition Coming to LA – KnuckleBonz Rock Iconz “On Tour” for Sure!

The Pink Floyd Exhibition that originally debuted in London in coming to LA to the Vogue Multicultural Museum. The exhibition was curated by the band David Glimour, Roger Waters, Richard Wright and Nick Mason and Aubrey Powell, the Hypnosis  co-founder. He and designer Storm Thorgerson and collaborated on many Pink Floyd album art concepts and designs.

Many things from all the Pink Floyd eras that you would expect to see will be on display, like a myriad of music instruments, or the Pink Floyd Pig. But, some you might now expect. If the LA version of the museum mirrors the UK, you will see the cane that Roger Water got his licks from in his school boy days with Syd Barrett. This was a direct influence to the Teacher character from Pink Floyd The Wall.

We are personally looking forward to seeing the Division Bell heads in all there metallic glory inside the exhibit along with lyric sheets from Dark Side of the Moon, Pink Floyd Animals and many others.

This will be a hot ticket with Covid restrictions still in place…check the https://www.vmmla.com website for ticket sales information.

You might even see a KnuckleBonz Collectible or 2 while you are there…

Here’s a good overview video from the Pink Floyd Exhibition in London.

KISS Destroyer 45 Year Anniversary – KnuckleBonz 3D Vinyl Series “Toughest Assignment”

The KnuckleBonz® 3D Vinyl® Series has been in production for over 3-years now for those Superfans worldwide that want to celebrate the great album art of the last 50 years in 3D. When we decided to produce KISS Destroyer for the series we knew we had a touch task ahead. We first had to sculpt the KISS band Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehly and Peter Criss in the style of the great fantasy artist Ken Kelly. That was quite a task alone, but add the complexity of  having (4) full statues in a single collectible. This had to be done 1976 times in the limited edition for a price that fans could still reasonably afford.  All of us were really happy with the result back in 2018.

KISS Destroyer is the high water mark for the original line up in the studio and produced some of the bands most iconic songs. “Detroit Rock City” “Flaming Youth” Shout It Out Loud”  and “Beth” are staples for the KISS live shows today.

For sure KnuckleBonz collectibles are not for everyone, and not meant to be. 3D Vinyl, Rock Iconz® and On Tour® collectible are expensive to create and license. We a limited edition is SOLD OUT, only a few thousand Superfans worldwide participate.
