Celebrating Chris Cornell – Soundgarden and Audioslave Excellence

Happy to be celebrating the birthday of Chris Cornell who was born on this day in 1964.

Chris and Soundgarden for us are the alpha and omega for what we  celebrate as the “grundge” era. Funny how the industry needed labels, but when you strip things away you have an amazing singer/songwriter and band. Chris’s songs and stage presence stood out in those years as Soundgraden threw down great record after record. Siz studio efforts to be precise. Can still remember dropping the needle on Badmotorfinger. The nearly 4 octacive range of Chris Cornell’s voice was on full display. We have the same reverence for the AudioSlave records as well. That’s a “miss” in the live concert attendance catalog here. Never got a chance to see Chris Cornell and Tom Morello live…sigh.

Check out all the great ROck Iconz and other KnuckleBonz collectibles here.

Rock Hard and Drop the Needle of some Soundgarden or Audioslave today.

Tom Morello on Ozzy’s Boneyard This Week Radio Comandante

Caught some of Tom Morello on Sirius XM the “Ozzy’s Boneyard” channel on the way into the KnuckleBonz® studio ahead of our QUEEN Rock Iconz® launch tomorrow AM. His show #RadioComandante is talking about his influences.  Eddie Van Halen was the subject and how EVH how looked at the guitar and his tone differently than anyone before. EVH produced sounds never before heard; sound we only associate with him and Van Halen. Morello also shared a story about his 1st guitar, a Gibson Explorer, and how his experimentation with the tone knob helped define his sound that we know associate with Rage Against the Machine, Audio Slave/Chris Cornell, Prophets of Rage ect. He also touched on  his record on college collection and what his room mate hated, Ozzy Osbourne, Dokken. Geeyyad, glad we had cool room mates. Check it out, really great radio for sure…#RadioComandante
