AC/DC “Hell’s Bell” Rock Iconz On Tour Collectible “It’s like you were there in 1980”

AC/DC “Hell’s Bell Rock Iconz On Tour Limited Edition Collectible “It’s like you were there” in 1980.

The AC/DC “Hell’s Bell” first graced the AC/DC live stage in support of the “Back in Black” world tour in 1980. This was the band’s 7th studio album and the 1st with new frontman Brian Johnson. For anyone associated with that tour, it quickly became clear that this was not just another stage prop. It was, in fact, a 1300kgs bronze colossus that actually smashed through many concert stages during load-in as it was wheeled into position in the custom road case. This bell was special, as it was not only an amazing sight during live performances, but it was the very same that was rang out (13) times on the “Hells Bell” track on the album.

“HELLS BELL ACROSS THE SKY”

The new Rock Iconz® “On Tour” Series brings music fans and collectors moments in and around the world’s great live performances and world tours. Each On Tour collectible is hand detailed and is an officially licensed limited edition.

“This is Spinal Tap” Limited Edition Statues now in design KnuckleBonz Rock Iconz

A heads up for the music super fan and collectors worldwide. “This is Spinal Tap” limited edition statues are now in design for our Rock Iconz Series at KnuckleBonz Studios for Davis St. Hubbins, Nigel Tufnell and Derek Smalls. No launch or pre-sales date yet, but sculpting and pre-production is going well. We can’t stop laughing and we hope to able to share work in progress soon. “It’s such a fine line between stupid and clever” after all.

The film that pioneered the “Mockumentary” genre has been something we have wanted to get to create for a long time. The vision and hard work to take Spinal Tap from an idea and what little was on the written page to the timeless pop culture and rock music classic is still mind-blowing to all of us here at KnuckleBonz.

Some fun facts about the film:

Spinal Tap creators Christopher Guest Harry, Michael McKean Harry Shearer and Rob Reiner where given $10K to write an initial script for the film, but instead opted to shoot a 20 minute film short to demonstrate the improv that would serve as the fuel for the film. Obviously, it worked and some of the demo actually made it into the theatrical release of the film.

Christopher Guest in interviews says there is really not a specific band or performer that drives any aspect of the film. However, there are numerous bands that admit to building stage props that could not fit into arenas…Black Sabbath is guilty as charged. This was the inspiration to for the tiny “Stonehenge” scenes.

Look closely to find Dana Carvey and Billy Crystal for cameos.

The song “Big Bottom” has David, Nigel and Derek actually all on the bass guitar. Think Rhythm Bass, Lead Bass and Double Bass. The low-frequency is covered!

This is Spinal Tap is Ranked #1 on Entertainment Weekly’s “Top 50 Cult Films of All-Time”.

Liam of the band Oasis was reported to be “very distraught” when he was told that Spinal Tap is not a real band…weren’t we all?

#Staytuned here and other KnuckleBonz hang outs for updates on Spinal Tap Rock Iconz Statue production for Davis St. Hubbins, Nigel Tufnell and Derek Smalls. We continue to tour the world, “and elsewhere.” Kbonz

Ozzy Osbourne Diary of a Madman KnuckleBonz 3D Vinyl – Created for the Music Super-Fan

Not every great album makes a great subject for a 3D Vinyl limited edition.

In 2019, the 3D Vinyl® Collectible Series from KnuckleBonz was created for the Super-Fan that just may not be into the statue and figure category we have created over the past 17 years. 3D Vinyl brings the great album art to life in 3D that can be both wall-mounted or desktop mounted.  Wall mounting was a big addition as we heard from fans, “this work is great, but I don’t have a good place to display it.” Wall mounting to the rescue…

Not every great album makes a great subject for a 3D Vinyl limited edition, but hard rock and metal fans around the world agree Ozzy Osbourne’s 2nd studio album ” Diary of a Madman “, the last with the great Randy Rhoads, is a perfect subject. Ozzy’s figure reaches toward you in the crazed-gaze from this 1981 photo shoot.  Statue comes complete with Ozzy’s home spun tattoos from that era, that would give way to the more elaborate work to come later in his solo career. The candle chandelier and wooden ceiling beams round out the 3D sculpture.

KnuckleBonz Rock Iconz Production Update, Ghost, Iommi, AC/DC and Bon Scott.

KnuckleBonz Production® Rock Iconz® Update, Ghost Papa Nihil Ghouls, Iommi, AC/DC and Bon Scott.

This quick KnuckleBonz Rock Iconz production update is mostly for all the super-fans and collector elite  that have Pre-Orders with us via www.knucklebonz.com . Just and FYI for the rest of you…

Ghost Papa Nihil, Ghost Ghoul Guitar Players Rock Iconz and Ghost “On Tour” Stage Set Rock Iconz has all finished the casting process from our hand made molds and are in the final stages of “polishing.” This step has our production team inspect each statue part and removes and imperfections from the original resin casting. Once this is complete priming and base colors painting will begin. We are still tracking to late fall ship date from our USA warehouse.

Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath is also in final polishing and cleaning just ahead of base colors being applied. This will happen over the next color weeks. Next steps are final color ahead of QA and preparation of the color box.

Rock Iconz On Tour Collectibles for the AC/DC Cannon and the AC/DC Highways to Hell Road Case and Stage Backdrop are finishing hand casting. They will begin the polishing phase over the next 2 weeks to perfect each part of the statues. The various decals for the outside of the road case are being created to be ready for the painting and color details phases of production.

Scorpions Rock Iconz for Rudolf Schenker, Klaus Meine and Matthias Jabs have begun the production mold making phase. This takes about 2 to 3 weeks and is the step just ahead of casting. While we are early, the current plan to ship all these 3D Vinyl and Rock Iconz Collectibles by year end.

The Rock Iconz statue for Bon Scott, former lead singer of AC/DC, is also in the early stages of production. Details are being refined now and mold making will begin over the next 2 weeks. The current schedule has this shipping before year end if all goes well in production.

Final Note: These updates are as of today July 1st. Things overall are looking good on all KnuckleBonz productions, but we have a Covid-19 monster continuing to lurk about with potential disruption and delays. Will do our best to keep you updated here.

Super Fans rejoice with the addition of Megadeth Rust in Peace to the 3D Vinyl® Collectible Series from KnuckleBonz. The new collectible category was created for Super-Fans may not be into the statue and figure category KnuckleBonz has created over the past 17 years.

Not every great record album will yield something that a music fan might want in their display case or on their wall. It needs to have the right combination of images, photos or perspective. There is perhaps now better subject for 3D Vinyl than the thrash metal classic Megadeth’s “ Rust in Peace ” released in 1990. Megadeth’s mascot Vic Rattlehead, poses front in center in of the cover in what looks like“ Hanger 18. ” He looms over a cryogenically preserved alien pilot. An elite collection of world leaders from the early 90s are seated in attendance. The entire album cover is illuminated by a green crystal of unknown origin. What else would you need, right? This is a limited-edition collectible with only 1990 created for music super fans worldwide. All KnuckleBonz products are limited edition.

Heavy Metal Godfather Tony Iommi’s Rock Iconz Statue In Full Production

Heavy Metal Godfather Tony Iommi’s Rock Iconz Statue is in full production at the KnuckleBonz production facility. Iommi’s Rock Iconz statue design is inspired by the early 70s era of Black Sabbath when metal classic albums like Paranoid and Volume 4 were being created. I can still remember Black Sabbath Vol. 4 being under the Christmas tree that year. A seminal moment in any heavy metal upbringing.

Some of the detail to look out for in this Rock Iconz design is the silky top Iommi wore on stage during this period. Also look for his signature “finger tips” that he uses to protect the ends of his injured fingers while playing. As any Sabbath fan will know, Tony injured the fingers on his fret hand while working at a sheet metal factory. This was just before stepping out to become a full-time musician in Black Sabbath.  Iommi also sports a smashing pair of white platform shoes. A must for any 70s stage-wear.

The Tony Iommi Rock Iconz Statue is entering the painting phase of production at KnuckleBonz production facilty. This is one of the final stages before final QA and packing. Guarantee you will be part of this limited edition by pre-ordering at https://knucklebonz.com/product/tony-iommi-rock-iconz-2/

The Rock Iconz® Series celebrates the world’s greatest music performers in a limited-edition collector series. Rock Iconz are hand cast and detailed with a numbered certificate of authenticity. Never more than 3000 is created for super-fans around the world. Rock Hard!

Rock Iconz Production Update January 2018

Hi All,

A quick production update for Live KnuckleBonz Rock Iconz projects

Live from the Production Floor

King Diamond – Production is wrapping up next week and the King Diamond Rock Iconz™ Limited Edition Statue will begin the trip to our US warehouse. Looks like and end of February or early March ship. King Diamond has signed all the special certificated and statue bases for the pre-sales give away. They are being set aside now. Looks like and end of February or early March ship date. Stay tuned here for updates next month.

GHOST Papa Emeritus III – GHOST is in final paint revision and will finish production over the next 10 days. Drop testing on the package design was completed this wee and all is go to ship. Looking like early March for Papa. There’s still time to have a chance to get one of the hand-signed Certificates of Authenticity with a pre-order. That will end sometime next month.

Janis Joplin – Janis production is complete, and the statue is being boxed for shipping now. Janis should ship at the end of February. Thanks for your patience on this production.

Rob Zombie – Rob Zombie production is in final stages. We made a small revision to the base over the last few weeks to make it more-sturdy for shipping. The statue is being matched with the hand numbered bases now and will begin packaging this week. A word in your ear, we are pleased to tell you that Rob has also signed (44) special Certificates of Authenticity and they will be given to random fans that have pre-ordered this Rock Iconz Ltd. Edition.

Billy Idol – The newly announced Billy Idol statue is complete and will begin shipping the US warehouse at the end of this month. Looks like an early March ship. This production captures Billy Idol from his debut album era in 1982/83. We have taken some grief on this one from KnuckleBonz fans saying, “we are moving away from metal”. Just because we create something that is, or is not, in a certain musical genre does not say anything about us. We are music fans and will continue to create Ltd. Editions for great music artists. Artists we like and that fans around the world want to see.

Billy Gibbons – The founder of the “Texas Trio” ZZ Top is in final paint and production will wrap up at the end of this month. We has some delay with all our final approvals from Billy because of the holidays, but all’s good and looking like an early March ship date.

Thanks to all for your continued support for KnuckleBonz…we are turning 15 years old, seems like s minute ago we were meeting with Mrs. Rhoads about creating the first KnuckleBonz Ltd. Edition.

Rock Hard ! Kbonz
