Randy Rhoads Rock Iconz – “One Step Forward, Two Steps Back”

Here’s a quick update of Randy Rhoads Rock Iconz® Production and Shipping.

The 1st wave of production actually wrapped at the end of March and began making it’s way to our USA warehouse. Sadly, it has been sitting on the container ship off the San Francisco Bay now for over a month waiting for a slot at the port to off load. Each day, we hope for a notice that we are cleared to doc at the port of Oakland, but we continue to wait. This is the frustrating part of our business, and especially so in the Covid-World as it’s the one thing we have no control over. All we can do is promise if to keep you updated the second it  is released to go through US Customs and begin the short trip to our US warehouse.

The 2nd production wave of Randy Rhoads Rock Iconz Ltd. Edition Statues  is also complete, but we got some unhappy news earlier this week about International ports. There has been a new Covid outbreak and work slow down there, so these Randy Rhoads Rock Iconz are now waiting there for our turn to load onto our Container ship to come to the US. This is why the title of this blog entry is “One step forward, two steps back.

We know that all are exciting to get these new Randy Rhoads Rock Iconz and we will do everything we can to expedite the shipping process once we get the initial inventory checked in to our US warehouse. Make sure you are signed up for email alerts to get all the news.

Check out Randy Rhoads from early in the Ozzy Osbourne solo era and all the Rock Iconz, 3D Vinyl® and On Tour™ Collectibles Here

As always…thanks for supporting KnuckleBonz and all the great music artists we work with.

Pink Floyd Projection Screen – Rock Iconz On Tour Series – Production Notes

If you are paying attention, you will see we have announced the newest piece for our Rock Iconz On Tour® Collectible Series. From the stage of the PInk Floyd, we have created the projection screen used in live shows dating back to 1972. This design had several details that needed to be solved to be able to produce a hand cast limited edition statue. The 1st issue to tackle was cost. We always to to keep the price consistent in our Rock Iconz®, 3D Vinyl® and On Tour Series. To tool and cast the truss that supports the screen in metal was going to costs a kings ransom and simply was not an option for a short run 500 piece limited edition. That’s right, our Division Bell Projection Screen edition number is only 500. No FoMO… So we had to figure our a way to simulate the truss with some other materials. We decided to sculpt the truss shapes then cast the entire part in clear resign. That would allow us to paint the truss metal structure leaving the rest as a polished clear surface. That allowed us to solve our cost and design issues. A byproduct of this is that though this ON Tour Collectible from the Division Bell era of Pink Floyd has no working lights, the clear resign does catch the light in interesting ways and makes for spectacular display. The live shot from the KnuckleBonz studio in the blog here has a single light behind the truss to make the edges glow…really fun to shoot this for the product launch.

The limited edition pages are live now and you can pre-order the Division Bell Pink Floyd Projection Screen now.

We has also created the Pink FLoyd Pig for the Rock Iconz On Tour Series as well as Wish You Were Here for 3D Vinyl. Check those limited editions out here.

I found a cool video on Youtube today that has some hi-res of the videos played on the screen in 1994 from the Pink Floyd Vision Bell tour…check them out here:

Pink Floyd Division Bell – The Final Tour

Seven years after the release of “Momentary Lapse of Reason,” the first Pink Floyd record and tour after the departure of Roger Waters, Pink Floyd released the Division Bell album and 2 days later, embarked on what would be the final full concert tour for the band. “The Ringing of the Division Bell had begun…”

The Division Bell marked the return of Richard Wright as a full member of the band. This was the 1st real collaborative effort from PInk Floyd since Wish You Were Here as Mementary Lapse of Reason had primarily been written by David Gilmour.

The Division Bell tour was a  massive success and was the highest grossing concert tour of all time up to that date in 1994.

The album and touring posters featured the work of long time Pink Floyd designer Storm Thorgerson. The face to face Division Bell monoliths remain some of the most enduring images for Pink Floyd.

The Earl’s Court Pink Floyd show from the Division Bell tour has been restored and is a must see for any Floydian. Check out “Comfortably Numb” here. The iconic Pink Floyd circular screen takes center stage as it rotates down to engulf David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Rick Wright in amazing rays of light…

Happy Birthday to Klaus Meine – Rock Iconz Deutschländer !

Hey Scorpions fans…join KnuckleBonz is wishing Klaus Meine a very happy birthday.  It was a please creating Klaus, Rudolph Schenker and Matthias Jabs for our Rock Iconz Collectible Statue Series. They shipped earlier this year.

Scorpions were founded in Hannover Germany in 1965 by Rudolf Schenker.  From the outset, the band has laid down hard rock and heavy metal that has excited fans across the planet. The soaring vocals of  Klaus Meine along with the dual guitar attack of Rudolf Schenker and  Matthias Jabs has been the engine driving classic albums such as “Lovedrive, Blackout, Love at First Sting” and many others. Perhaps no other band in rock history has been able to master hard driving riffs alongside power ballads.  In 1988, Scorpions were the first major rock band to play in the Soviet Union with (10) SOLD OUT shows. The following year, they headlined the Moscow Music Peace Festival which was the inspiration for this statue design.  Scorpions have influenced countless contemporary bands and to this day remain a stadium and festival headliner. Scorpions celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2015, and there is no end in sight with new tour dates to come.

42 Years of KISS Dynasty

Yesterday marked 42 years since the release of the KISS Dynasty record. While it not apparent to the KISS Army at the time, the original KISS lineup was only a short time away from it’s end. Peter Criss did not actually play on the album due to a combination of injuries to his hands from car accident and struggles with substance abuse. Anton Fig was called in to keep time as he had already worked with Ace on some of his solo efforts. The album did have radio success with “I Was Made for Lovin You“. It actually peaked at #11 on the US Billboard charts. But, perhaps the most lasting part of the Dynasty era are the amazing costumed. They were more elaborate than ever with Gene, Paul, Ace and Peter dawning capes with signature colors for each member. The KISS predominantly black and silver schemes were replaced by Red for The Demon, Hot Pink for The Starchild, Blue for SpaceAce and Green for The Catman. The photos and videos from this era are amazing.

KnuckleBonz has expended our license with KISS through 2023 with the band and we are hard at work on a new set of Rock Iconz.

Here’s a collectors list of the things we have created with KISS: KnuckleBonz and KISS

  • KISS Alive II Rock Iconz (Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss) * These were essentially the Love Gun costumes w/ some minor tweaks)
  • KISS Alive 1975 Rock Iconz (Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss) * From the costumes fro that era 1975)
  • KISS Rock Iconz Hotter Than Hell (Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss) * All 4 band members, Gene is sporting the Skull shirt
  • KISS Debut Album 3D Vinyl (The band from that famous black cover and the glowing makeup.
  • KISS Destroyer 3D Vinyl – The most aggressive 3D Vinyl design to date sculpting all 4 characters in the illustrative style of Ken Kelly’s famous cover painting.
  • KISS ON Tour Road Case and Logo Stage Sign – The distressed Road case hold a banner from the Alive photo shoot by Fin Costello and the lighted sign used by the band thru the Alive era.
  • KISS Rock Iconz 2021 – #staytuned

Randy Rhoads Rock Iconz Update – Call with Kathy Rhoads Dargenzio

Had a call with Kathy Rhoads Dargenzio, Randy Rhoads sister, yesterday to check in and give the Rhoads Family and update on the shipping and production status for Randy’s new Rock Iconz® Limited Edition Statue. Thought we would share that here for all you Randy Freaks…

The 1st wave pf production actually finished last month and has been going through all the steps for international shipping to get to our USA warehouse. The statues are in the in line on the cargo ship juts of the SF Bay area ports waiting for our turn to go through customs. This is always tough as it one of the things that we have no control over in the whole production process. Our original window to clear US customs was just over a week ago. Things are still backed up sue to Covid unfortunately. Once we clear the ports in should only be a week to 10 days before we start shipping to pre-orders.

Note, that the fist wave of production is pretty much taken by all the pre-orders. We have a 2nd wave of production that has just finished and is beginning the journey to our US warehouse. Bottom line, all we create are limited editions and they are sold 1st-come-1st-serve. If you want a chance at this Randy Rhoads Rock Iconz design, best to get in the order queue.

Order your Randy Rhoads Rock Iconz Ltd. Edition Statue Here: Randy Rhoads 3 Rock Iconz Limited Edition Statue

On the call with Kathy Rhoads, we were able to confirm that one of Randy’s guitars that was taken in the recent theft at the Musonia School of Music has been returned to the family. Great news there! Things are on-going with that situation so that’s all the info we have. Kathy also talked a bit about Randy Rhoads recent induction in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame w/ the “Musical Excellence Award.” It sounds like there will be some kind of live ceremony in Cleveland to celebrate that this fall. Too early for any more details on that.
